Moving Pictures, No Data Leaks: The Media Module

A video often says more than a thousand words. But if you simply embed a YouTube video in your website, your visitors' data is sent to Google as soon as the page loads – before anyone has even clicked play. The PlaCeMS Media module solves this elegantly.

One Library for All Your Videos

In the Media module, you manage all your videos in one place: your own uploads and videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Each video gets a title and a preview image. Once added, you can use it anywhere on your website.

Upload Your Own Videos

You upload your own videos directly in the backend, up to 25 MB per file. PlaCeMS also checks your server's limits and shows you the size that's actually possible. No nasty surprises with uploads that silently fail. Your own videos play in your visitors' browsers without any third-party service.

YouTube and Vimeo – Only After a Click

You add YouTube or Vimeo videos simply by link. On your website, visitors first see only a preview image with a play button. Only when they click it does the video load from YouTube or Vimeo. Until then, no data is sent to these services – good for privacy and good for your page speed.

Right in the Text or in the Gallery

In the blog editor, you insert a video with one click right in the middle of your text. You choose the width and whether the video plays inline or as an overlay over the page. Galleries and blog articles can also have a video attached. A video you've uploaded once can be reused as often as you like.

Change Once, Up to Date Everywhere

Because all videos live centrally in the Media module, you change a title or preview image in one place only. The next time you generate the site, the video is up to date everywhere. That's the PlaCeMS Cell principle: maintain content once, use it everywhere.

Videos and Photos Together

Together with the Gallery module, you show photos and videos side by side – for an event, a project or a trip, for example.
