A Door for ChatGPT & Co.: The AI Door Module

More and more people no longer ask Google but ChatGPT or Claude. The AI assistant then searches the web, reads pages and summarises them – sometimes accurately, sometimes outdated or vague. With the AI Door, you give AI assistants direct, official access to your content. They no longer have to guess; they can simply ask.

What Is the AI Door?

The AI Door is an interface based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard understood by AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. Your website can be reached through it at its own address, for example your-domain.com/mcp. Instead of laboriously searching your pages, the assistant asks targeted questions: Who are you? What do you have on backups? Show me the article about the Gallery module.

What an AI Assistant Can Do With It

  • Get website info: who is behind the website and what it is about
  • Search content: find matching articles, galleries and pages for a question
  • List entries: for example all blog articles or all galleries
  • Read a single entry in full: with title, text and address, so the assistant can quote and link correctly
  • Send an enquiry: if a user asks their assistant to contact you, the message reaches you by email.

Only What Is Public

Only published content can be reached through the AI Door. Drafts and members-only content stay out. All functions are read-only: an AI assistant cannot change, delete or create anything. The only exception is the enquiry, which is forwarded to you by email – nothing is stored in the CMS itself.

Privacy and Abuse Protection

The AI Door only counts how often each function is called per day – without content and without IP addresses. To slow down abuse, a hash of the calling service's IP address is stored briefly. Our own privacy policy (section 13) shows what a matching section can look like.

So AI Assistants Can Find the Door

PlaCeMS points to the AI Door in your website's llms.txt, a file aimed specifically at AI services. Assistants that support MCP can also add the address directly as a connection. To check whether your door works properly, use our free AI Check: from 80 points, it tests the AI Door live.

Why Now?

It used to be all about being found on Google. Today, being understood and quoted correctly by AI assistants matters too. There is no guarantee – but if you give AI services clean, direct access, you make it much easier for them to give the right answers and link to the right page.
